Happy April! These monthly recaps are getting a little long - should I maybe switch them to weekly? Let me know in the comments please!!
What I Read in March
The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston
Wow wow wow I looooved this book! It’s one of the most creative romance books I’ve read in a while - there’s a little magic, a lot of grief, and a beautiful character arc. I talk about the synopsis in this reel + a recipe for fettuccine inspired by the book!
Magnolia Parks by Jessa Hastings
As I mentioned in the TikTok above, I wasn’t sure about this book at first… and then somewhere around halfway through, I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. This book is about Magnolia and BJ, two wealthy socialites in London who have the most toxic relationship ever. Ever since they broke up a few years ago, they have been in a near constant state of will they/won’t they. It’s frustrating but also kind of addicting? I’d recommend if you liked Gossip Girl or just rich people behaving badly.
Daisy Haites by Jessa Hastings
This is the second book in the Magnolia Parks universe and I already like it SO MUCH more than the first one. The same characters are all involved, but this book is told from Daisy, Julian and Christian’s POVs. This book still has toxic relationships and wealthy antics, but it also has extra drama thanks to a crime family planning an art heist. Juicyyyy!
PS. Don’t forget to check out this post about 2024 Book Releases that I’m excited for!
What I Watched in March
Top Chef (Bravo)
Adam and I are HUGE Top Chef fans. We’ve seen every season, it’s appointment television during new seasons, and we even have a group chat with our friends who love it too. This season takes place in Wisconsin and we like Manny the best so far!Traitors (Peacock)
We started watching this on a whim… and then we couldn’t stop. Basically, an assortment of reality stars move into a castle in Scotland to play a strategy game hosted by Alan Cumming. This article explains the rules if you want to read more, but TLDR: it’s so silly and fun to watch!Mr. & Mrs. Smith (Amazon Prime)
We finally finished this and I thought it was so well done. Both Donald Glover and Maya Erskine were really good - and the season ended with such a cliffhanger that I’m hoping for a Season 2!One Day (Netflix)
I feel like I watched this so long ago now… but if you need a good cry, PUT THIS ON. It follows Emma and Dex as they reunite on the same day every year starting their graduation night where they first meet. This series was so well done and it absolutely wrecked me. Also, Leo Woodall is a star.Jenny Slate Seasoned Professional (Amazon Prime)
Jenny Slate usually cracks me up and this special was no exception. She talks a lot about becoming a mother, funny childhood stories, and therapy. I was giggling through the whole thing!
Upgraded (Amazon Prime)
If you like cheesy rom coms, this new one with Camila Mendes was pretty cute. I get frustrated with the lying trope in rom coms, but it was still a fun watch.
Oppenheimer (Peacock)
When this movie ended, I told Adam “ that was great but I hated it.” 😂 This movie was absolutely phenomenal and I have so much appreciation and admiration for everything that went into it… but it also made me so anxious and I never want to watch it again. You know what I mean?Summer House (Bravo)
I’ve been a sucker for Summer House for years and this season has been really good so far! Are you team Lindsay or Carl?
What I Bought in March
I finally found Abercrombie jeans that I love and I’m so excited about them! The first pair is perfect for everyday - high rise, ankle length and some stretch. I got size 27 short and they’re perfect. Then I got the second pair because I’ve been looking for jeans to wear with heels. Their curve love styles run a little smaller in the waist and bigger in the hips, so I sized up to a 28 in those and I love the way they fit. I got the regular length and they’re great with around 3” heels.
Quince Vacation Staples
I already owned a few of these pieces, but the linen pants (size small), black knit tank (size small), white shirt (size small) and bikini top (small) & bottoms (medium) are all new and SO GOOD. Such high quality closet staples for spring and summer!Abercrombie Dresses
I only kept 3 dresses from this haul, but all of them are so cute! I decided on this squareneck dress, this a-line dress, and this tile print dress because I think they’re the most versatile and I’ll wear them the most!
I got this sweater for St. Patrick’s Day and I’m so glad I did because it’s so pretty in person and unlike my other Sezane sweaters, it’s MACHINE WASHABLE! It comes in a few other colors too!
MaryRuth Organics Liposomal Prenatal Multivitamin
Recently, my multivitamin started causing those gross fishy burps (I can’t be the only one!), so I thought I’d try this liquid multivitamin instead and I love it. I haven’t asked my doctor if it’s as good as a prenatal capsule yet, but it seems legit!
This was an impulse purchase and I’m not sure if it was worth it yet. I tried them on Saturday and they’re very easy to put on but halfway through Adam’s birthday party, they felt like they were falling off my lashes and I needed to take them off. Could be user error on my part though!!
What I Was Gifted in March (That I Love!)
I love love love this dress. It’s lightweight, has pockets, and makes me want to TWIRL! The bodice is all smocked so it’s really comfortable, too. It runs a little big, I got an XS.
I’ve loved this oversized jean jacket by ABLE for years, but this shorter one might have taken over my #1 spot now. It’s just as soft as my first one, but this one is a little more cropped and polished. I’m in loooove. Use code SOCIAl for 30% off!
I was in desperate need of a new phone case, and I looove the daisies on this one. It makes me happy every time I look at my phone!
We’ve been big Tommy John fans for a while, so I was so excited to work with them this month! Their underwear and bras are my FAVORITE, but they also have really soft loungewear and pajamas. Use code LAKESHORE30 for 30% off!
I just got this a few days ago so I need some time to test it out, but I am SO EXCITED about it!! I already used it on a pimple that was starting to form and I swear it helped bring the inflammation down immediately.
Sum Bum sent me their new Daily Collection just in time for my trip to Arizona! We've been fans of Sun Bum for a while (their spray was our go-to for days at the lake last summer!) and I really like these new products - especially the Daily Gel. It has a velvety matte finish which makes it feel way more like a primer than a sunscreen, but it still has SPF 50! Use code LAUREN20 for 20% off!
PS. My March Bestsellers are on the blog now too! 😘
